Nomuzi Mabena well known by her stage name, Moozlie got involved in a car accident while she was live on Instagram (well at least that's what we thought). Moozlie was driving home after a dinner date with her boyfriend where she decided to go live on Instagram to let her fans and aspiring entertainers know that her record label, Nomuzi Mabena Music, would be signing people in 2019, this is one the most disturbing videos on social media as the the accident was captured when it happened.
Fans and friends showed love and concern for Nomuzi as they took to the comment section of her latest picture to express how worried they all were and basically wishing her well. It turns out Nomuzi was playing us, after people spent the entire night worried about her, she posted a video basically showing that she had partnered with two brands namely Volkswagen and Drivedry to raise awareness about drinking and driving, and snapping and driving. The whole accident was staged. As you can imagine her fans are upset as they feel this campaign took it too far. Here are some of the comments from angry fans: "here’s my thing , I get the message and I commend it and kudos to Moozlie for getting behind a good message in fact. But “the road to hell is paved with good intentions” meaning there are bad ways of trying to get good things done. For VW this could’ve been executed better , for instance if they actually showed her “driving” while recording her IG story and then had an accident , people would immediately start the convo themselves NOTICING that the last thing she did was use her phone while driving. In this video she isn’t even driving let alone drunk. That’s where they missed us. They focused too much on shock value and left the message vague."
Of course everyone was happy that she is safe but then she is receiving a lot of backlash on this campaign, even the Road Traffic Management Cooperation issued out a statement saying they did not authorize any celebrity to do a road awareness campaign. However some fans thought this was a good move as they claim that people barely watch adverts, some fans think that Moozlie and the two companies did a good job by making this campaign. Here is the comment from fans who supported the campaign: "People hardly watch adverts. This was an eye opener. I hope people will think about this before they go live/text/respond while driving! great campaign👌.Got everyone talking and re-evaluated their driving habits."
We have mixed feelings about this campaign, we do not know whether or not it drove the point home or if it was one of the not so well thought off adverts, we have no idea let your views be heard in the comment section down below. The one advise that we have for you is: Don't snap and drive, and don't drink and drive.
