South Africans have wondered for such a long time about the ladies who tell us we have no airtime to make calls on our social networks, well one has decided to reveal herself.
People have wondered for a long time that they even came up with predictions of who it could be, for a while it was believed that the lady is a white woman called Veronica. We think it makes sense to think that the woman is Caucasian because honestly the accent is very Caucasian. Some people were even convinced that there was no human being behind this but just a programmed computer voice.
Actor Kgomotso Christopher well known as Yvonne from Scandal just revealed news that left everybody's jaws dropped, people could not believe that she is the voice that tells us about insufficient funds when we try to make calls and she has been doing it for six years for a popular South African social Network called MTN. Wait six what ? How did she keep it a secret for all this time?!
Kgomotso made this shocking reveal by posting a video on her Instagram doing the voice over for MTN and captioned it, "Greeting from the lady who tells you when you have insufficient airtime to make a call", she followed that with some hashtags "#Mylifeinvoice #6yearsStrong."
People were so surprised and the left some comments to express how they feel since most of them do not really like that voice that tells us when to call and when not to but are really big fans of Kgomotso Christopher. One Instagram user wrote "I suddenly don't hate Veronica anymore...it would be quite funny though if you were to run out of airtime and hear your own voice telling you that you have insufficient airtime to make this call.", another one wrote , "please my question is did you record this then later played or you just reply everyone's at the same time,you got a great voice dear" , hilarious!
Well we thought this is where it ended but as we went through the comments to see what people had to say we found other people from Nigeria commenting that this is the same voice they hear, the comment said "This is the same voice MTN do use in Nigeria, Nigerians dont dull,lets attack her here right now, don't listen to her telling you she doesn't work for Nigeria,or better still she should produce that does naija own..."
Wow, it's amazing that there is a possibility that she doesn't only work for MTN South Africa but other countries too. Some of her fans and celebrities were very proud of her for "securing the bag" in so many ways as she is an actor as well.
So here we are South Africa, we now know who the beautiful voice that tells us bad news belongs to, Americans would call this the Mandela effect as we spent so long thinking it's Veronica.
